Mrs. Charles Caletka Dies in Brenham At Age 83
Mrs. Charles Caletka, a native of the Newburg comunity near Cat
Spring, died in Brehnam after an illnes of about six years.  She was
83 years of age.
The Rev. W.A. Menking, pastor of the Bellville Methodist church
officiated at rites hald at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of the
Etlinger Funeral home.  Pallbearers were Erwin Kinkler, Gerhard
Michaelis, Richard Kollatschny, Edwin Eckardt and Jerry Skalak.
Interment was at St. John's Lutheran cemetery at Cat Spring.
The Etlinger Funeral home directed the services.
Mrs. Caletka was the former Miss Augusta Michaelis, daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Michaelis.  She was born June 21, 1871.  As a
child she attended the Bretschneider school, and was confirmed and
baptized in the old Newburg church.  She was a member of the SPSJT
lodge of Cat Spring. 
On November 29, 1894, she was married to the late Charles Caletka who
preceeded her in death Aug. 17, 1932. 
Surviving are one son, Alfred Caletka of Cat Spring;
a daughter, Mrs. Charles Renz of Eagle Lake; a brother, Richard
Michaelis of Cat Spring, and four grandchildren.
