Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Zander, 82, of Bellville, were
held from the Chapel of the Pete E. Etlinger Funeral Home in
Bellville at 4 p.m. Thursday, February 17, with the Rev. O.K.
Oelke officiating. Burial was in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
Mrs. Zander passed away in the Fayette County Memorial Hospital
in LaGrange at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 1972, having
attained the age of 82 years, 9 months and 25 days. She had
been in failing health for the past 10 years.
Born in the Centerhill Community in Austin County April 20,
1889, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Scholz. She
was reared in Bellville and educated in the Centerhill public
school.
The former Miss Ida Scholz, a member of the St. John Lutheran
Church of Bellville, was married to the late Fritz H. Zander
September 29, 1910, in ceremonies performed in Bellville. Mr.
Zander passed away January 7, 1956.
Survivors include: daughters, Mrs. W.H. Schomburg of Bellville
and Mrs. Emil H. Frank of LaMarque; son, Fred Zander of Houston;
and four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband, one infant daughter,
three sisters and three brothers.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Zander were Jimmie Harden, Sr., Jimmie
Harden, Jr., Herbert Zander, Halston Krumrey and Wayne Schomburg.
