Funeral services for Albina Gajewski Hammond, 89, of Sealy were held
Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003 at 10 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception
Church in Sealy with Rev. Octavio Muguerza celebrating the funeral
rite of committal.
The parish vigil service and rosary were held
November 12, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. from the Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel
Sealy. Interment was in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Frydek.
Pallbearers for the service were Andrew Sowa, Gilbert Sowa, Placid
Milton Sowa, Daniel Orsak, Edwin Orsak and Dennis Orsak.
The former Miss Albina Florence Zapalac was born to parents Frank
Pavlicek Zapalac in Frydek. She was raised in Frydek and attended
Public School. On Oct. 10, 1933, she married August Gajewski in
after August's death, she married Daly Hammond in 1968. Mrs. Hammond
member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar
Albina Gajewski Hammond died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003 in Sealy, Texas.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Georgia and Michael
Humble, sons and daughters-in-law Louie and Sidonia Gajewski of
and Paul and Peggy Gajewski of Cat Spring, sisters and
and Earl Hering of Sealy and Frances Lastovica of Friendswood,
sister-in-law Alvin and Clara Zapalac of Orchard, nine grandchildren
fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Amalie Zapalac,
husbands August Gajewski and Daly Hammond, sisters Agnes Lamza, Mary
Stephanie Chovanec, Martha Tronowski, Mollie Smidovec, Clara Zapalac
Gertrude Zapalac, brothers Ignac, August and Frankie Zapalac,
Mary Chovanec Zapalac.
Funeral services were held under the direction of the Knesek Family
Chapel in Sealy, Texas.
