A celebration of praise and thanksgiving was offered in memory of James Douglas Bellville, Sr. on Saturday, May 15, 2004 at 11 a.m. from St. John Baptist Church in Chappell Hill with the Rev. Jessie Turner officiating the services. Pallbearers in service were James Leaks, Clifton Leaks, Lloyd Turner, Sr., Michael Leaks, Chad Sutton, Darrell Leaks. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Bellville, Tommie Washington, Kevin Bellville, Ray Bellville, Andre Drake, Stephen Bellville. James Douglas Bellville, Sr. was born on October 3, 1942 to Sam and Ethel Bellville in Buckhorn. The first of eleven children, and known to most as Junior, he has always known the meaning of family. With is beautiful smile and loving heart he touched many lives in special ways. He was a lover of life and people with a caring spirit. His tremendous strength as a son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, made any difficult journey light enough to bear. His career was with Thomps & Betts of Houston as a professional welder. James Bellville, Sr. passed away on May 10, 2004. He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Bellville. James leaves to mourn and cherish precious memories, his mother, Ethel Bellville of Bellville; his wife, Willie M. Bellville and her daughter, Tammy Edmond and spouse, James, of Chappell Hill; first wife and mother of his children, Lealer Bellville; four children: Jacqueline Harris, Stephanie Drake and spouse, Andre, Demetra Washington and spouse, Tommie, of Houston, and James Bellville, Jr. and his companion, Claudia of Atlanta, Georgia; six sisters: Trulie Price, Marie Newson, Hattie Crawford, Bertha Bellville all of Houston, Marjorie Bellville and Gloria Bellville of Bellville; four brothers: Sammy and spouse Perlie, George, and A.C. of Houston, and Robert Bellville, Sr. and spouse Margret of Bellville; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives and special friends.
