Pearly Boecker, 87, of Bleiblerville, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2004 in Trinity Care Center. Pearly was born November 7, 1916 in the New Wehdem Community to Rudolph and Emma Dierking Wunderlich. She was baptized March 29, 1917 by the Rev. H. Poehlmann and confirmed March 20, 1932 by the Rev. M.C. Hoermann at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. On October 12, 1938 she was married to Bennie Boecker in St. James by the Rev. R.A. Schmidt and became a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, W.G. Stein and Fred Boecker; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Laura and Elton Krueger and Esther and Theo Hurtig. Her survivors include her husband of 65 years, Bennie Boecker; son, Calvin Boecker and wife Peggy of Brenham; daughter, Verlin Ashorn and husband Dennis of Bleiblerville; grandchildren, Denise Brending and husband Leroy, Duane Boecker and wife Christie, Donna Carroll and husband Troy, and Deidra White and husband Rusty; great grandchildren, Crystal Hohlt and husband Ronnie, Lucas Brending and fiance Carrie Novosad, J.D. Boecker, Ryan Carroll and Austin White; great-great-grandchild, Lillian Grace Hohlt; sisters, Ruby Stein and Gladys Boecker both of Brenham, and Eleanora Zuehlke and husband William of Clifton; also numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2004 in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Welcome with Pastor Jason Korthauer officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2004 at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Serving as pallbearers were Leroy Brending, Duane Boecker, Troy Carroll, Rusty White, Lucas Brending and Ronnie Hohlt. Memorials may be given to the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Welcome Cemetery Fund or Hospice of Brenham. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel. Posted by Joy Neely
