Funeral services for Eddie C. Hegemeyer, 93, of New Ulm, were
held Saturday, April 17, 2004, at 10 a.m. from St. John Lutheran
Church in New Ulm with the Rev. Bill Bosley officiating. Interment
was at New Ulm Cemetery. Pallbearers serving were Michael Gross,
Nathan Hegemeyer, Edward Hegemeyer, Deron Kutra, Dwayne Bilski, and
Joey Hegemeyer. Honorary pallbearers were Jason
Hegemeyer, Clinton Hegemeyer, Brian Hegemeyer, Steven Kutra, Kyle
Gross, Michael Biehunko, Craig Kutra and Ray Menke.
Born in New Wehdem, Eddie was the son of Henry and Emma Wensel
Hegemeyer. He was raised in Star Hill and attended school in Star
Hill.On April 27, 1932 he was joined in marriage to the former Miss
Viola Rinn with a ceremony held in New Ulm. Eddie worked as a farmer
and then he became a carpenter building homes. He was baptized on
February 19, 1911 and confirmed April 18, 1926 at St.
James Lutheran Church. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church
in New Ulm, the New Ulm Volunteer Fire Department , and Sons of
Herman in New Ulm.
Eddie C. Hegemeyer died April 15, 2004 in Bellville. His survivors
are daughters, Lucille Gross and husband Milford of Bellville
and Delores Kutra and husband Willie of Sealy; sons, Gilbert
Hegemeyer and wife Emily of Katy, Newton Hegemeyer and wife
Elizabeth of Sealy, William Hegemeyer of wife Bonnie of Sealy; and
Eddie Hegemeyer, Jr. and wife Carol of New Ulm; brother, Hubert
Hegemeyer of Hempstead; 9 grand daughters; 13 grandsons; 25 great
grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Emma Hegemeyer;
wife, Viola Hegemeyer; sisters, Hilda, Clara and Bernice Hegemeyer,
Ida, Emily and Alma Peschel, and Lydia Nonemacher; brothers, Willie
Herbert, and Reinhard Hegemeyer; grandchildren, Christopher, Mary
Ann and Patricia Hegemeyer and Dwayne Gross; and great grandson
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in
New Ulm. Funeral arrangements under direction of Knesek Family
