Funeral Services for Marvin W. Maeckel were held Mon 5/3/04 at 11 a.m. from
Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville. Interment took place at Pilgrims
Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers in service were Bill Betts, Tony Bugai, Todd
Krueger, E.C. Parp, Jerry Ward, Paul Warner, Chris Krueger, and Larry White.
Officiating the services were the Rev. Henry Buseda and the Rev. Milton
Marvin was born in Bleiblerville, the son of Ed and Mathilde Kudlacek
Maeckel. He was raised in Bleiblerville and attended Bleiblerville school.
He graduated from Bellville High School in 1946 and attended Blinn College.
Marvin was baptized July 22, 1928 and confirmed on September 6, 1942 at
Industry Brethren Church. On November 7, 1953, Marvin married the former
Miss Shirley Krueger with a ceremony held in Bellville. Marvin served his
country in the United States Air Force. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad and
the Tax Assessors office for 10 years and then went to work as a machinist
for Daniels Industry until his retirement in 1992 after 23 years. He was  a
member of Industry Brethren Church, American Legion in Bellville and Woodman
of the World. Marvin enjoyed gardening and yard work. He also loved all
kinds of music, from polka to bluegrass. He and his wife Shirley especially
enjoyed going to Bluegrass Festivals.
Marvin Maeckel passed away on April 30, 2004.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Maeckel of Bellville; sisters, Edith
Betts and Lorene Brown, both of College Station; brother, Leland Maeckel of
Bleiblerville; mother-in-law, Edith Krueger of Burliegh Community;
brothers-in-law, Larry Krueger and wife Sue of Houston, and Gary Krueger and
wife Nancy of Bellville; nephews, Bill Betts and wife Paula, Todd Krueger
and wife Brandi, Chris Krueger and fiance Brooke Goeke; nieces, Beverly Ward
and husband Jerry, Kimberly Bugai and husband Tony, Traci Warner and husband
Paul; special friend, Debby Andreas of Bellville; godchild, Debra White; and
numerous great nieces and great nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Mathilde Maeckel; and his
father-in-law, Clarence Krueger.
