Funeral services for Alice A. Schulke, 80, of Sealy were held Saturday, September 18, 2004, at 10 a.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy with the Rev. Dale Leland officiating. Interment was at Sealy Cemetery in Sealy. Serving as pallbearers were Terry Ashorn, Charles Wendt, Michael Meloneck, Jason Leiber, Nathan Schulke and Paul Forde. Honorary pallbearers were the Post 442 American Legion and Auxiliary. Born in Sealy, Alice A Schulke was the daughter of Emil and Norma Beckmann Meloneck. She was raised in Sealy and attended Sealy schools. On November 1, 1941 the former Miss Alice Meloneck was joined in marriage to Mr. Herman Schulke with a ceremony held in Columbus. Alice was the owner of Sealy Decorating Center. She was a 48 year member of the Sealy American Legion Auxiliary, Post 442 where she served as secretary of the 9th District and held many offices in the local unit including President. Alice participated in 25 consecutive national Bowling tournaments. Alice A. Schulke died Thursday, September 16, 2004 in Bellville. She is survived by daughter, Marlene Joyce Schulke Leiber and husband Jerry of Sealy; sons, Alan Lee Schulke and wife Charlotte of Kenedy, and Larry Ray Schulke of Sealy; grandchildren, Jason Leiber of Houston, Stacie Leiber of Sealy, Nathan Schulke and wife Michelle of Chappell Hill and Cheryl Schulke Forde and husband Paul of Houston; great grandchildren, Zoe Ellen Forde and Ethan Austin Schulke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Schulke, and her parents, Emil and Norma Meloneck.
