Gary Wilson Brown was born June 27, 1947 in Sturgis, Michigan, the son of Willard Louis and Normal Balyeat Brown. He grew up and attended school in Michigan, graduating in 1965 from Hastings High School in Hastings, Mich. Brown passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 17, 2005 in Waller County. He was 58. Gary served in the United States Air Force from 1966 until 1972 and was a Fire Control Specialist with the Avionics Maintenance Squadron. He was honorably discharged in 1972 having attained the rank of Sergeant. A self-employed carpenter, Gary was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also treasured the time he spent with his friends and family, and enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by his mother: Norma Brown of Bellville; Brother: Randy Brown and his wife, Karen, of Houston; sister: Marcia Schorlemmer and her husband, Roy, of Houston; son: Jerry Charles Brown of West Virginia; daughter: Melissa Brown; former wife: Susan Brown of Bellville; stepchildren: Angela, Jessica and David Racz, all of Bellville, and many other friends and family. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Willard Louis Brown and his brother, Larry G. Brown. A funeral service was conducted December 22, 2005 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville with the Rev. Boyd Faust officiating.
