Shirley Buchanan, age 65, beloved sister of Dorothy Olson and Virginia Wood
of Bellville, passed away May 4, 2005 in Houston, Texas following a long and
courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Buchanan was born July 26, 1939 in Industry, Texas, graduated from
Bellville High School and made her home in Houston with her loving husband
of 45 years, M.D. (Buster) Buchanan.
She is survived by her husband M.D. (Buster) Buchanan, her daughter Liz
Smith and son-in-law Jeff of Spring; her son Brad Buchanan and
daughter-in-law Deborah of Marquez; her son Brian Buchanan and
daughter-in-law Susan of Pinehurst; and her son Jeff Buchanan of Spring;
grandchildren, Kimberly Sligar and husband Jimmy, Kevin Smith, Jacob
Buchanan, Luke Buchanan, Kevin Perry and wife April, and Courtney Perry;
great grandchildren, Rebecca and Brooke Sligar; two sisters, Dorothy Olson
and Virginia Wood of Bellville.
Funeral service was held at 10 am Saturday, May 7th at Addison-Smith Funeral
Chapel, with Pastor Gene Kendrick officiating. The internment was at 2 p.m.
at Marquez Cemetery in Marquez, Texas. Pallbearers; Kevin Smith, Jimmy
Sligar, Troy Charlton, Will Schulte, Sonny Turner, Jerry Olson and Ken
(Casey) Frances.
