GABRIELLE "ELLA" SOWA CIESLEWITZ

Funeral services for Gabriella "Ella" Sowa Cieslewitz, 86, of Sealy, were
held Wednesday, August 3 at 10 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Frydek with the Rev. Bernard Snock celebrating the funeral mass and rite of
committal.
Interment was in the Holy Cross Polish Cemetery near Sealy, Texas. Serving
as pallbearers were Lindon "Scooter" Smith, Val Eschenberg, Milton Sowa,
Andrew Sowa, gilbert Sowa and Adolph Kasmir.
Gabriella Sowa Cieslewitz "Ella" Passed away July 30 following a brief
illness. Ella was born March 24, 1919, the daughter of Filip and Rosie Sowa.
She grew up in Frydek community and attended school there. In 1940 she
married Joseph John Cieslewitz. When Joe came home from serving in the U.S.
Navy during WWII, they moved to Houston. Ella and Joe had four children,
Peggy Jean, who died in  infancy, twins Patricia and Patrick and daughter
Nona. Ella lived in Houston until 1994 when she moved to Pearland.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, daughter Peggy and
sister Marcy Sowa Cieslewitz.
She is survived by her children Patsy Smith and husband Lindon of Pearland,
Patrick Cieslewitz and wife Margie of Houston, and Nona Liles and husband
Roger of Chico, CA. and her brother Telesfor Sowa of Frydek.
Other survivors include her grandchildren and their spouses Kelly and Tim
Guerrero, Michelle and Gene Phillips, Garrett and Christine Liles, Lindon
(Scooter) and Jeanna Smith and Emily and Valentine Eschenberg, and great
grandchildren Chad Stevens, Jessica Guerrero, Kelsey Guerrero, Daniel
Eschenbert, Gabriella Phillips and Colton Smith.
Ella was  a member of both KJZT and SPJST for more than 50 years. Family and
friends will remember Gabriella for her kindness, generosity, and loving
ways as well as her keen sense of humor. She was a wonderful mother,
grandmother, and great grandmother, and friend. She touched many lives and
will be missed by all fortunate enough to have known her.
