CLYDE RUPERT FROEBEL

Clyde Rupert Froebel, the son of Authur Sr. and Clara Marie Leenen Froebel,
was born in Bellville on July 9. 1934.
On Nov. 17, 1940 he was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring
by the Rev. G. Wolf, and was confirmed on May 16, 1948 by the Rev. Wernecke.
Clyde attended school in Cat Spring and Sealy, graduating from Sealy High
School. From 1957-1959, he served his country in the United States Army.
On July 16, 1961, Clyde was united in marriage with Nancy Lou Palm at St.
John Lutheran Church in Bellville. They made their home in Bellville and
Sealy before moving to Cat Spring.
Clyde was employed as a maintenance crew leader for the Texas Department of
Highways and Public Transportation, retiring in 1995 after 29 years of
service.
Clyde was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy, on July 29, 1998
after 37 years of marriage.
He was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church of Bellville were he
served as a Sunday school teacher and Luther League sponsor. He enjoyed
hunting, gardening and his cattle.
Clyde passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2005 at his home in Cat Spring at the age
of 71.
He is survived by his sons: Corey Froebel and his wife, Kim, of Lufkin, Todd
Froebel and his wife, Shannon, of Brenham, and Bradley Froebel of Houston;
grandchildren Lindy and Laney Froebel of Lufkin, Logan and Kyler Froebel of
Brenham; brothers and sisters-in-law Cecil and Carrie Froebel of Sealy,
Robert and Ruth Froebel of Houston, Arthur Jr. and Faye Froebel of Sealy and
Carlos Froebel of Bernardo; sister and brother-in-law Betty Ann and R.H.
Priesmeyer of Cat Spring; and many other relatives and friends.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister-in-law, Virginia
Froebel.
Funeral Service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005 at St. John
Lutheran Church in Bellville with Pastor Jennie Jones, Pastor David Henske
and Pastor Kim Little-Brooks officiating. Pallbearers were Wayne Peschel,
Keith Froebel, Bryce Froebel, Reed Froebel, Thomas Froebel and Brian
Froebel.
Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Priesmeyer, John Coan, Lenny Krause, Jerry
Brown. Jeff Prokop and Rene Juardo.
Interment followed in the Cat Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the
Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville.
