Hail George Mortimer Hail Sr. was born May 1, 1911 in Houston, the son of Alexander Sr. and Bessie (Weems) Hail. He grew up in Houston where he attended San Jacinto High School. On June 1, 1935 he was united in marriage with Ruby Mildred "Bennie" Tilley at St. Steven's Episcopal Church in Houston. George was an active member of his Masonic lodge in Houston and from 1948 - 1956, he served as a Boy Scout leader. George was employed at Gribble Stamp and Stencil Company, before he went to work for Anderson Clayton and Company in the Cotton Division. He retired in 1971 after 40 years of service. Bennie preceded George in death in 1973. In 1977 George moved to Bellville where he was employed at A.J. Smith's and was an active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church. He passed away Tuesday, September 27 in a Bellville nursing facility at the age of 94. He is survived by his Son: George M. Hail Jr. of Freeport; Daughter: Barbara Truitt and her husband, Gery of Bellville; three grandchildren: Dr. John B. Share Jr. of Houston, Robert C. Share and his wife, Deanna, of Bellville, and Staci DuPree and her husband, Gipp, of Plano. Also surviving are five great grandchildren: Dean Share, Nathan Share, Ryan Share, Chloe Saldivar and Kelsey Saldivar, several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Edward Hail, Albert Hail and Alexander Hail Jr. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jennie Hail, Schneider and his son-in-law, John B. Share Sr. Funeral service was held at 4 p.m., Thursday, September 29 at St. Mary's Episcopal parish Hall in Bellville with Father Bob Gribble officiating. Graveside Service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 3 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston. Pallbearers were Craig Simpson, David Charpiot, Clay Kistler, Ernie Koy, Jim Skipton, Dr. Don Bosse and Bruce Remmert. Honorary pallbearer is Robert Charpiot. In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Bellville. Arrangements under the direction Posted by Joy Neely
