Hattox Tommy Carlson Hattox was born March 29, 1945 in Longview, Texas, the son of Payne and Lucy Carlson Hattox. He grew up and attended school in Goree and Mundy, Texas. From 1957 till 1959, he lived in Sweden. On November 8, 1986, he was united in marriage with Nancy Journeay Stevens in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since 1991, Tommy and Nancy have made their home in Bellville. Tommy served his country in the United States Army from, 1969 till 1971, and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After his honorable discharge, he was employed as a police officer in several counties including Harris County and Waller County for 25 years. For 3 or 4 years, Tommy and Nancy owned and operated T & N Antiques in Houston. Tommy loved fishing, gardening, shooting and just enjoyed being at home. He passed away Monday, October 3, 2005 in a Katy hospital the age of 60. Tommy is survived by his wife, Nancy Hattox of Bellville; children, Lynette Hattox Hart of Fort Worth, Randall Hattox of New South Wales, Australia, Kimberly Hattox of Houston, Timothy Hattox of Irving, Tiffany Stevens of Katy and Nicole Stevens of Shreveport, Louisiana; and grandchildren Bailey and Emily Hart of Fort Worth, and Hailey Allen of Katy Also surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Laverne and Bobby Baker of Santa Teresa, New Mexico; nieces, Christy Baker Milton of El Paso and Cindy Baker Gower of Santa Teresa, New Mexico and nephew, Rick Baker of El Paso; and many other friends and relatives. Preceded in death by parents and a daughter, Monica Hattox in 1969 at age five. Funeral Service was held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, October 7, 2005 at the Houston National Cemetery Chapel in Houston, Texas with Chaplain Martin H. Crowell officiating. Interment followed in the Houston National Cemetery.
