Jan Maria Wozniak Hennigar, 73, of Bellville, died May 8, in Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village. Jan was born May 3, 1932 in Brenham, to Ignac "Ike" and Frances (Miller) Wozniak. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Mary's Catholic church in Brenham. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Brenham through the 8th grade. Jan entered Out Lady of the Lake Convent in San Antonio, where she completed high school. She also received a Bachelor's ' Degree from Our Lady of the Lake. Later, she earned a Master's Degree from The University of Texas in Austin. Jan was a nun in the Order of Divide Providence for 22 years. She was a teacher and taught school in many different places throughout Texas. In 1974, she was granted a dispensation from the Order. She continued teaching in Public School. In 1975, Jan married and moved to Bellville, to be closer to her family. While living in Bellville, she worked as a volunteer at Spicer Kingergarten. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville. Jan is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Msgr. Louis Wozniak of Georgetown; Arthur Lee and Rosalee Wozniak of Corinth; Ike and Camie Wozniak of Katy; sisters and brothers-in-law -- Mary and Emil Richter of Smithville, and Emily and Gene Pawlak of Bellville; "Special Aunt" Jane Loesch; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Murray Hennigar. A memorial Mass will be offered at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14 in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville with the Rev. Msgr. Louis Wozniak and Father Timothy Bucek, Celebrating. Memorials may be given to Sts. Peter and Paul Church, PO Box 808, Bellville, Texas.
