Naomi Conway Hudgins was born on Jan. 19, 1910 to Ellis and Eva Conway in Bryan. She passed away on Jan. 2, 2005 in Bellville at the age of 94. Naomi and her husband, William A. Hudgins enjoyed more than 74 years of marriage. She was a 1928 graduate of Reagan High School in Houston and a proud member of the Reagan Red Coats Drill Team. She also studied and graduated from Drawn Business College in Houston where she became adept at typing and shorthand, two skills she used throughout her life. She was an active worker in the children's Sunday school department for many years at West End Baptist Church in Houston. Later, she was a member at Tallowod Baptist Church. She was also active in the PTA and Cub Scouts when her children were young. Naomi loved her family and made them her priority. Her family and friends will miss her love and hospitality deeply. Mrs. Hudgin's family continues with her husband, William; sons, Ellis and his wife, Betty, of Bellville and Bill of Spring; grandchildren, Michael, Doyle, Martin, Matthew, Kyle, and Amy; and 7 great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005 in the chapel of Heights Funeral Home in Houston with the Rev. Eugene Vickery officiating. Interment followed in Forest Park-Lawndale Cemetery. Pallbearers were four grandsons, the husband of the only granddaughter, and one great-grandson. Posted by Joy Neely
