Funeral services for Varnell Jasek, 89, of Bellville, were held Sunday, October 23rd at 3 p.m. from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville with the Rev. Carl Williamson officiating. Interment was at Washam Cemetery in Buckhorn. Serving as pallbearers were Gene Wietstruck, Larry Wietstruck, Lester Curry, Mikel Holba, Glenn Maresh and Paul Burke. Honorary pallbearer serving was Marvin Marburger. Born in Buckhorn, Martha Varnell Washam was the daughter of John E. Washam and Alice Crawford Washam. She was raised in Buckhorn and attended the Buckhorn Public Schools. Varnell was married to Mr. Frank Joseph Jasek. For many years, Varnell was Dr. Roensch's office nurse. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Bellville. Martha Varnell Jasek died Wednesday, October 10, 2005 in Brenham. Survived by her sons: W.T. Jasek of Bellville, Jerry Jasek and wife Gayle of Bellville, sisters: Hazel Holba of Bellville, Marie Brune and husband Herbert of Sealy, Hettie Falk of Bellville, grandchildren: Bonnie, Terry, John, Melissa, Meagann and Jared Jasek, and by her great-grandchildren: Stephanie, Justin, Weston, Quinten, Mackenzie, McKenna, Reagan and Christina. Preceded in death by her parents; John and Alice Washam, husband; Frank Jasek, brothers; Thomas and John Washam, sisters; Charlene Cannon, Louise Wietstruck and her sister-in-law; Marie Maresh. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Bellville. Services were by Knesek Family Funeral Chapels in Bellville. Posted by Joy Neely
