Jeffery Lavern Johnston, age 56, passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 in Papillion, Neb. He was born June 1, 1949 in Houston and graduated from Waltrip High School. Jeff served as an air traffic controller in the U.S.Marine Corps. He was a third generation railroad worker with 25 years of service at Union Pacific Railroad, most recently in the Dispatch Office as a Corridor Manager. Jeff is preceded in death by his wife, Julie Anne Johnston. He is survived by his sons Matthew Carl (17) of Papillion, Neb. and Jeffery Scott (19) of St. Louis, Mo.; parents Margaret and Carl (Toby) Johnston of Bellville; sister Brenda Johnston DeVore and husband Ralph of Houston. A special thank you to Jeff¹s uncle, Tom Nickels, for his love and presence at his passing. A private graveside service was conducted at Earthman Resthaven in Houston on Friday morning with Father Tim Bucek of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Bellville performing the Rite of Interment for Jeff and Julie with eulogy given by Ralph DeVore. Jeff had a gentle spirit and loved his family deeply.
