EDWIN "EDDIE" KOVAR

Funeral services for Edwin "Eddie" Kovar, 76, of San Felipe, were held
Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005 at 10 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Frydek, with the Rev. Bernard Snock celebrating the funeral mass and rite of
committal. Interment was at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Frydek.
Pallbearers serving were Edmund Faldyn, Harold "Bubba" Krampitz, David
Krampitz, Pete Kovar, Jr., Joe Kovar, Bennie Michna, David Vincent and Scott
Newsome.
Born in Elinger, Edwin was the son of Joe John and Sophie Baca Kovar. He was
raised in Ellinger and attended Ellinger Public Schools.
Edwin Adolph Kovar married the former De Alva Petrich on Aug. 19, 1962, with
ceremony held in Frydek. Mr. Kovar worked as a clerk stocking groceries at
Bill's Grocery store.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Frydek, the Frydek Knights
of Columbus and was mayor of San Felipe in the 1970's.
Edwin "Eddie" Kovar died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005 in Brookshire.
He is survived by his wife De Alva Kovar of San Felipe; daughter, Nethia
Kelly and husband Michael of El Paso; son, Gordon Kovar and wife Donna of
San Felipe; sister, Judy Vrazel of Austin; brothers, Pete Kovar, Sr. and
wife Judy and George Kovar and wife Opal, all of Sealy; grandchildren, Megan
Kovar of College Station, David Kovar of San Felipe, Sam Kelly and Kyle
Kelly, both of El Paso.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe John and Sophie Kovar.
