Koym Funeral Services for Louis E. Koym, 91, of Sealy, were held Saturday, February 19, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church in Sealy, with Rev. John Tyler officiating. Interment was in the Sealy Cemetery with Graveside Service under the auspices of Masonic Lodge #239 A.F. & A.M. Serving as pallbearers will be Brent, Carlton, Todd and Trent Koym, Michael Wright and Herc Meier. Honorary pallbearers were the United Methodist Men and fellow members of Masonic Lodge #239. Born in East Bernard, Louis Elton Koym was the son of Herman W. Koym and Lena Reinhardt Koym. He was raised in East Bernard and attended school there. On November 8, 1934, Mr. Louis Koym and the former Miss Lucille Meier were married in Richmond, Texas. Be was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men, the Chancel Choir, a member of the San Felipe Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. #239, and the Sealy Volunteer Fire Department. He was the retired owner and operator of a trucking business. Louis Elton Koym passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2005 in Katy, Texas. Survived by his wife of more than 70 years, Lucille Koym of Sealy, sons and daughters-in-law Russell and Beverly Koym of Sealy and Elton and Carol Koym of Canton, Texas. Also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Brent, Carlton, Todd, Trent and Sandra Koym, and 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents H.W. and Lena Koym, three sisters Josephine Kopecky, Dora Gabler, Lena Kessler, and three brothers Oscar, Johnny and Henry Koym. Memorial Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 200 Atchison, Sealy, Texas 77474.
