Kutach Funeral services for Matilda Agnes Kutach 90, of Houston, (formerly of East Bernard) were held Monday, Aug. 29, 2005 at 10 a.m. from Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard, Texas with the Rev. Don Ruppert officiating. Pallbearers serving were her six grandsons. Interment was at the Holy Cross Cemetery in East Bernard. Born in Sweet Home, Texas, Matilda was the daughter of John and Frances (Fait) Pekar. She attended public school in Sweet Home. The former Miss Matilda Agnes Pekar married Edward A. Kutach on Nov. 23, 1937. She was a lifetime homemaker and was a member of KJ.Z.T. of Sweet Home and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard. Matilda Agnes Kutach died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005 in Houston. She is survived by her husband Edward A. Kutach of Houston; children Jeanette Heitman and husband Carlos of Houston, Robert Kutach and wife Gayle of Houston; sisters Mary Long of Houston, Annie Darby of Rockdale, Janie Migl of Sweet Home, Frances Hermes of Sweet Home, Lillie Melnar of Sweet Home; brothers Robert Pekar and wife Vonnie of Schertz, Texas, John Pekar and wife Rose of Sweet Home; brother-in-law Fred Kopecky; grandchildren David, Michael and Christopher Heitman, Keith Kutach and wife Karen, Kevin Kutach and wife Trisha, Kyle Kutach; great grandchildren Dylan and Taylor Kutach, step great grandchildren Christopher and Megan Fasio, and special family friend Bonnie Terral of Houston. Preceded in death by her parents John and Frances Pekar, brother and sister-in-law Charles and Norma Pekar, sister and brother-in-law Nora and Vermont Dolezal, sister Toni Kopecky, and brother-in-laws Melvin Long., Leroy Darby, James Hermes, Victor Melnar and Matt Migl.
