Luedke Funeral services for Millie (Machinsky) Luedke, 97, of New Ulm, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at the Industry United Methodist Church with Dr. Timothy Abel officiating. Interment will follow in the New Bremen Cemetery near New Ulm. Visitation will begin after 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Zaskoda Chapel in Industry where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Mrs. Luedke was born April 15, 1908, in Austin County, the daughter of Roman and Frances (Jasek) Machinsky. She attended Oak Hill schools and married Edwin Luedke on March 8, 1928, in Bellville. A lifetime resident of the New Ulm area, she was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm. She was a member of the Industry United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, flowers, and taking care of her pet dog ³Tammy². She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Luedke passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, in the Bellville hospital at the age of 97 years, 5 months and 18 days. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Frances (Jasek) Machinsky; her husband, Edwin Luedke in 1981; (2) sons, Curtis and George Luedke; (1) sister, Bertha Ashorn; (4) brothers, John, Albert, Eddie and Walter Machinsky. Survivors include: (1) son, Marvin Luedke and wife Joan of New Ulm; (1) daughter-in-law, Delbertha ³Bootsie² Luedke of New Ulm; (30) grandchildren, (9) great-grandchildren; (4) sisters, Esther Heinsohn of Houston; Bernice Merkel of Aransas Pass; Gladys Miller of Houston, Erna Corley of Beaumont; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the New Bremen Cemetery Association. Pallbearers: Ron Luedke, Jr., Bruce Luedke, James Luedke, Ronald Luedke, Ben Arrington, R.J. Halfmann. Honorary pallbearers include all of the other grandchildren.
