Lunsford Robert Vaden "Bob" Lunsford Sr. was born January 15, 1933 in Dallas, the son of Vaden and Geraldine Ross Lunsford. He grew up and attended school in Dallas, graduating from Crozier Tech High School in 1950. On June 30, 1950 he was united in marriage with Barbara Lynn Archibald in Dallas. Bob served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge he went to work for Carr P. Collins, then Mayflower Investment Co., which built Plymouth Park Shopping Center and numerous other developments in the Irving area. While in Dallas, Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. In 1967, Bob and Barbara moved to Bellville. Bob was co-owner of Mort Hall Ford and Eastex Chrysler Plymouth Mazda, and owned and operated Bob Lunsford Northwest Honda. Barbara preceded him in death on October 22, 1986. On March 27, 1988, Bob married Glenna Lamb in Bellvilel where they have made their home and been members of St. John Lutheran Church. An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of both the Coastal Bind Airstream and the North Texas Airstream Units. He passed away Tuesday, September 27 at his home in bellvilel at the age of 72. He is survived by his wife of 17 years: Glenna Lunsford of Bellville; sons: Robert V. "Robby" Lunsford Jr. of Lewisville and Ronald "Ronnie" Lunsford of The Woodlands; daughter: Jerry Lunsford and her husband, Nicholas Markwalter, of Houston, and grandchildren: Trey Lunsford of Rolla, Missouri, Bret Lunsford of Hattiesburg, Miss., Taran Lunsford of Picayune, Miss., and Leigh and Lauren Lunsford, both of Austin; and his mother: Geraldine Shugart of Ennis. Also surviving are his stepsons: Alan Lamb of Dallas and Mark Lamb and his wife, Bonnie of Southlake; step-grandchildren: Cody and Allie Lamb of Dallas, Madison Lamb of Southlake, Lacey Eiford of Fairborn, Ohio, and Candy Heard of Southlake; sister-in-law: Helen Gray of Dallas and Peggy Lovell of San Angelo; niece: Kathy Frost; and nephew: Tom P. Lovell III both of San Angelo; and many other dear friends and relatives. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Vaden Lunsford, stepfather, Roy Shugart and wife, Barbara. Funeral service was conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, September 30 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville with Pastor David Henske and Pastor Jennie Jones officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Knoll Cemetery. Pallbearers were Glenn Masterson, Mel Scruggs, Roy Rogers, Wayne Dimmel, Gary Kaufman and Don Lawrence. Honorary pallbearers were Clyde Little, Bill Schmidt and Dan Weisser. In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to: St. John Lutheran Church, Bellville; Hospice Brazos Valley, Bryan; or Alzheimer's Association, Houston.
