Connie Louise Meyer died Thursday, December 29, 2005 in Katy at the age of 71. She was born December 20, 1934 in Eden, Texas. A memorial service was conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Brookshire. The daughter of Charles Afton and Vina Mae Fowler Tisdale, Connie was raised in West Texas, where the family was involved in the oil industry. She met her first husband H.R. Schlittler while working for Lockheed in Kansas City. They moved to Sealy, where they owned and operated the Sears Catalog Store. After the sale of their business, she began working for M. David Lowe. After her retirement in 1998, Connie became a housewife. A member of the Katy United Methodist Church, Meyer also enjoyed volunteering at the Oaks of Brookshire Nursing Home in Brookshire. H.R. Schlittler died on January 21, 1995 and Connie was remarried on August 19, 1995 to Adrian Meyer. They made their home in Sealy. Connie is survived by her husband of 10 years: Adrian Meyer of Sealy; sons: David Schlittler of Dallas, and Phillip Schlittler of Sealy; grandson: Brannon Schlittler of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Vina Mae Tisdale and her first husband, H.R. Schlittler.
