Teichman Funeral Services for Karen Teichman, 51, of Wallis, were held on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005 at 11 a.m. from the Knesek and Sons Funeral Home in Wallis with the Rev. Richard Johnston, S.C.J. officiating. Interment was in the Hartsville Cemetery near Wallis. Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Teichman, Buddy R. Torres, Thomas L. Williamson, Mike Braswell, Joseph Kubena and Clinton Mascheck. Honorary pallbearers were Cody Park and Cori McMillian Torres. Karen was born in Sealy to parents Lawrence and Lena Mac (Hrnicko) Janicek. She was raised in Wallis and graduated high school in Pecos. She worked as the manager of Prairie Rice Dryer in Eagle Lake for years. She was a Past President of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Wallis, Past President of the Pilot's Club in Eagle Lake, a member of Wallis Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was involved in Wallis Little League. Karen enjoyed golf, fishing, playing softball, going to the casino and shopping at different Wal-Marts. Her main pleasure was doing things with her children. Karen Teichman died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 in Richmond. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Teichman of Wallis; father Lawrence Janicek and wife Margaret F. of Wallis; mother-in-law, Selena Mac Vann of Eastland; daughter, Kelly Teichman and fiance Ralph Trevino of Rosenberg; son, Bobby Teichman and wife Yvette of Wallis; brother, Gary Janicek and wife Bernadette of Wallis; step sister, Peggy Sorenson and husband Kurt of Lawrence, Kan.; grandchildren, Tristessa Trevino, Cody Park and Haley Park.
