Toman Funeral services for Norma Christine Toman, 90, of Sealy, Texas were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14,2005 from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Octavio Muguerza celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment was in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Sealy. Serving as pallbearers were H.C. "Bubba" Grimet III, James "Jimbo" Kresta Jr., Gerald Toman, Charlie Toman, Bobby Petrash and Mark Petrash. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, Norma was the daughter of John and Frances (Kubicek) Smith. She was raised in Aqua Dulce and attended school in Aqua Dulce and graduated for Alice High School. On Oct. 1, 1935 the former Miss Norma Smith was joined in marriage to Mr. Steve Toman with a ceremony held at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aqua Dulce. Norma worked as an accountant at various cotton gins as well as being a mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar Society and Catholic Daughters in Nada, Texas and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Norma Christine Toman passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2005 in a local hospital in Katy, Texas. Survived by her loving children, Carolyn Grimet and husband Clyde of Brookshire, Marilyn Iosue and husband Fred of Pearland and Elrose Kresta and husband James Sr. of East Bernard; sons James Toman of Sealy and Charles Toman and wife Joyce of Sealy; daughters-in-law Margie Toman and Janie Toman; 22 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; special nephew Howard Smith of Corpus Christi and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Smith, husband, Steve Toman, sons, Stephen and John Toman and brothers, Eddie and Johnny Smith.
