Kitty Lynn (Brown) Utter was born Sept. 20, 1948 in Pasadena, Texas, the daughter of Raymond and Opal (Smith) Brown. She graduated from Milby High School in Houston in 1967. She was united in marriage with Dwain Utter on Jan. 16, 1976 in Stafford. They made their home in Stafford and Manvel before moving to Bellville in 1979. Kitty was employed as an office manager for Henson Motors in Sealy, and as a real estate agent for Bill Johnson and Associates. She enjoyed music, camping and the Home Shopping Network. She passed away Thursday, May 12, 2005 at her home in Bellville at the age of 56. She is survived by her husband Dwain Utter; daughter Cindy Henderson; son Steven Gilmore, all of Bellville; stepson Wain Utter, Tammy Adams and Kaleb of Industry; stepdaughter Glenda Johnson of Florida; grandchildren Tyler Henderson, Charles Johnson, Rowdy Johnson and Kayleigh Johnson; half brother Leon Luttrell and many other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Service was held Monday, May 16, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville with the Rev. Jeff English officiating. Interment followed in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers were Del Ray Lentz, Jesus Sanchez, John Henson, Pete Ratliff, Buddy Ratliff and Gene Wietstruck. In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Austin County Unit of the American Cancer Society, c/o Verna Lois Deere, P.O. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville.
