Brandt Funeral services for Jerry Isador Brandt, 81, of Sealy were held Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy with the Rev. Octavio Muguerza celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal. Interment was at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Sealy. Pallbearers serving were Joe Norem, Mike Dockal, Joe Brandt, Jr., Michael Dockal, Chris Norem and Colton Norem. Honorary pallbearer was Johnnie Brandt. Born March 21, 1925 in Sealy, Jerry was the son of John Brandt and Marie (Vales) Brandt. Jerry was raised in the Sealy area and attended Mixville Public School. He was a carpenter binding numerous homes in and around Sealy during the 1960's and 70's. Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in Japan and the Philippines. In his later years he enjoyed a "second" career with Sealy ISD in the maintenance department. Mr. Jerry Isador Brandt married the former Miss Helen Sobotik on Sept. 16, 1950 with ceremony held in Cotulla, Texas. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church all his life and the Sealy American Legion. Jerry Isador Brandt died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006 in Houston. He is survived by his wife Helen Brandt for 56 years of Sealy; his daughters Linda Dockal and husband Mike of Katy, Connie Norem and husband Joe of Houston; five grandchildren Candace Norem, Careese Norem, Colton and Chris Norem and Michael Dockal. Preceded in death by his parents John and Marie Brandt, sister Mary A. Brandt and brothers Willie, John and Joe Brandt.
