Funeral services for Willie Findeisen, 90, of Sealy, were held Friday, January 6, 2006, from Knesek Bros. Hwy 36 Chapel, in Sealy, with Pastor Gary Griffin officiating. Interment was at Sealy Cemetery. He died January 4, 2006 in Columbus. Findeisen was born in New Bremen, texas, to parents Willie and Emma (Ashorn) Findeisen. He was raised in Sealy and attended New Bremen and Cleveland Schools. He married the former Miss Effie Thomsen on January 8, 1938 in Sealy. Willie was a farmer and rancher and he loved Dominoes. A sports enthusiast, he loved to watch sports and he played as a young man. Survivors include his daughter: Betty Remmert and her husband Gene, of Sealy; son, Billy Findeisen and his wife, Marilyn of Sealy; sisters Della Kriegel, Norma Stone, Adina Griffin and Berndine Lamken and husband John, all of Houston; sister-in-law, Gertrude Findeisen of Sealy; brother Roger Findeisen and wife Vernice of La Grange; grandchildren and spouses, Clint and Diane Remmert, Tammy and Greg Smothers, Shelly and Jody Zaruba and Brian and Nicole Findeisen; great grandchildren: Trent, Garrett and Nicole Remmert, Hannah and Sam Smothers, Zachary and Hope Zaruba and Carter Findeisen. Mr. Findeisen was preceded in death by parents Willie and Emma Findeisen; wife Effie Findeisen; infant sister Nora Findeisen; sister Iola Ella Thomsen; brother Hugo Findeisen; granddaugter Sandra Findeisen; and great granddaughter Camryn Findeisen.
