Services for Kathryn W. Lipe of Industry were conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Industry Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Abel officiating. Mrs. was born on September 11, 1905 and she died September 8, 2006 in Brenham. Formerly of Lake Jackson TX and Seminole, Okla., she lived in the industry area since 1994. Born in Spencerville, Indiana Lipe was married in July of 1927 in McAlister, Okla to DeWitt Kipe. She is the daughter of Robert and Sarah Elizabeth Woodruff. She was a public school teacher and home maker. Lipe is survived by her daughter: Ann Yancey of Industry; a brother: John Wesley Simons of Gary, Ind.; three grandchildren: Michael Yancey and wife, Susan, of Houston; Peter Yancey and wife, Penny, of Angleton; and Kay Weyren and husband Mike of Brazoria; six great-grandchildren Clarie, Taylor and Will Yancey; Marcus and Leah Yancey, and Laurie McClain; three great great grandchildren: Gilian, Lauren and Roy McClain. She was preceded in death by husband DeWitte Lipe; a son, DeWitte Lipe Jr; and two brothers, Bob and Bill Simons.
