Funeral services for Earnestine "Tina" Lyth, 88, of Bellville, were held
Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006 at 11 a.m. from Bellville United Methodist Church in
Bellville with the Rev. Robert Stutes officiating.
Interment was at the Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers serving were John
Lyth, Stephen Marek, Clifford Drane, James Schleider, James Porter and Peter
Born in Humble, Texas, Tina was the daughter of John Thomas Porter and
Daisey (Goodrum) Porter. She attended school in West Columbia and graduated
from Bellville High School in 1935.
The former Miss Earnestine "Tina" Porter married William B. Lyth, Sr. in
Raccoon Bend on March 27, 1937.
Tina was a member of the Bellville United Methodist Church. She was active
in the Women's Circle and she and Bill were among the founding members of
the Joy Sunday School Class.
She was active in the Bellville Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxiliary.
Tina also worked as a beautician in Bellville for many years. Her hobbies
included sewing and crocheting.
Earnestine "Tina" Lyth died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006 in Bellville.
She is survived by her son William B. Lyth and wife Donna, her daughter Kay
Marek and husband Douglas, all of Bellville; five grandchildren John Lyth
and wife Zena of Bellville, Julie Drane and husband Clifford of Dallas,
Janie Lynton and husband Peter of Katy, Stephen Marek and Melissa Marek of
Bellville; seven great grandchildren Joshua, Grace and Jacob Ottmer, Alee
and Olivia Lyth, Abigail and Ava Drane; brother-in-law A.L. Lyth and wife
Gladys of Durango, Colo. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents John Thomas Porter and Daisy Porter and her husband Wm. B. Lyth,
Sr. preceded her in death.
She was the youngest of seven children, all of whom preceded her in death.
