Funeral Services for Albert Leon Ognoskie, 83, of Bryan, Texas, (formerly of Bellville) were held Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Bellville with the Rev. Tim Bucek celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal. Interment was at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville. Serving as pallbearers were Jerry Zalmanek, Doug Smith, Rodger Smith, Ron Evetts, Karol Ognoskie and Kim Green. Born July 11, 1922 in Bellville, Albert was the son of Martin and Annie (Brinkkoski) Ognoskie. He was raised in the Burleigh Community. Albert worked at EFCO steel as a truck driver. He served his country during WWII in the United States Army. On Nov. 25, Albert and the former Miss Lillie Reichle were married with a ceremony held in Bellville. Albert Leon Ognoskie passed away Friday, March 3, 2006 in Flatonia, Texas. Survived by his step daughter, Geraldine Zalmanek and husband James of Bryan, sister, Victoria Malinowski of Houston, half sisters, Johnnie Mac Brownschield of Bellville, Mary Krolczyk of Weimar and Dorothy Budnick of Bellville, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Neal and Stell Reichle of Rosenberg, Sterling and Inez Smith of Paige, Viola Ognoskie of Houston and Marie Ognoskie of Houston, grandchildren, Jerry James Zalmanek and Tina Ann Zalmanek, great grandchildren, Becky and Mandy Zalmanek and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Annie Ognoskie, wife Lillie Ognoskie, brothers, Joe, Pete, Herman, Bennie and Wallis Ognoskie and step mother, Eva Wosniak Ognoskie.
