Funeral services for Billy Charles Koy, 79, of Sealy, Texas were held Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 11:00 am from First United Methodist Church in Sealy. Rev. John Tyler officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Leroy Hauerland, Brad Hauerland, Terry Koy, Russell Cass, Larry Koy, and Cody Koy. Interment was at Sealy Cemetery. Billy Charles Koy was born in Sealy to parents Hugo and Ellie Schenkel Koy. Billy attended Sealy schools and graduated High School in 1944. He then attended Texas Tech University and graduated in 1950 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Billy Charles Koy married Miss Addie Pacher on November 18, 1951 at First United Methodist Church in Sealy. Mr. Koy served his country in the U.S. Navy in WWII. He was a member of the La Grange-Bellville FLBA board since 1984 as a director in training and has been a board member ever since. A non-practicing professional petroleum engineer, Billy opted for full-time farming in 1984, after running his own engineering consulting business for more than 25 years. He was active in his community and was one of 15 commissioners to write the home rule charter for the city of Sealy. He is part chairman of the trustees for the First United Methodist Church in Sealy and has been on the Austin Co. Extension Beef and Forage Committee for several years. Mr. Koy recently retired from a President-appointed post as the Selective director for Region 2. In addition, he is an accredited Can-Care volunteer, trained to do special visitation for cancer patients. He is survived by his wife, Addie, daughters Janis Koy Porter and Phyllis Jean Thomas, brother, Frank Koy and wife Audrey, grandchildren, Melissa Anne Rohrbach and husband Rob, James Koy Hill, Abby Lynne Thomas, Daniel Porter II and Ellie koy, daughter, Cynthia Anne Koy, sisters, Marian Claire Schier, Eleanor Blanch Koy, brothers, Douglas J. Koy and Woodrow Koy. Billy C. Koy passed away at home in Sealy on January 29, 2007. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 Atchison St. Sealy, Texas, 77474, American Cancer Society or Charity of Choice.
