Services for Edna Beryl (Johnson) Mikeska were conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2008, at St. John Lutheran Church, with pastors Jennie Jones and David
Henske, officiating.
Beryl passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 in Bellville. She was 87.
Interment in National Cemetery in Nelsonville followed services.
Mikeska was born Oct. 29, 1920, in Turnersville, TX, the daughter of Hobson Allen and Alma Louise (Schulz) Johnson. She attended school in Mosheim, TX after
graduation she attended school in Waco.
Beryl began her career as an x-ray and lab technician in Alice, TX where she met and married Dalby Mikeska. They made their home in Bellville. Beryl was employed
by the Bellville Clinic and Bellville General Hospital until her retirement.
She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church and Bellville VFW Women's Auxiliary. Beryl is remembered for sharing her cooking talents and recipes. She enjoyed
time spent with family and friends camping and fishing. Her family always looked forward to the cookouts at Papa's and Granny's.
She is survived by her daughters: Debbie Stewart and her husband, Tommy, of Bellville, Annette Vincik and her husband, Ernie, of Bellville and Wanda Lefner
and her husband, Tony, of Oglesby; grandchildren: John Stewart, Aaron vincik and Sandi, Jacob Vincik and Brandi Stewart; great grandchildren: Normandy King,
Samuel Garay and Henri Vincik. Beryl is also survived by her sister: Faye Moriarty; sisters-in-law: Dottie Helwig and Marie Johnson; and her brother-in-law: Derry
Mikeska and his wife, Dorothy.
