Henry F. Able, Sr., age 86, went to his eternal home on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009.
Funeral services were scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. from St. John Lutheran Church with the Rev.
Jeannie Jones and the Rev. David Henske, officiating.
Burial was in Houston National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Family received friends Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009 from 5-7
p.m. from Knesek Bros Funeral Chapel, 842 E. Main, Bellville, TX.
Henry was born in Coshatte, on Aug. 13, 1923. He attended schools in Coshatte, Hempstead, Bradbury, and graduated
from Bellville High School in 1942.
Henry served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Sons of Herman, Woodmen of the World,
St. John Lutheran Church of Bellville where he served as president and member of the church council, usher, Lutheran Men in Mission and the Bellville American
In 1945 he began working for Temple Lumber Industries (Lone Star Industries, Boise Building Supply) from which he
retired in 1985. The following 16 years was spent working for Vincik Building Supply, thus totaling 56 years at the same site. Henry was an Astro fan, enjoyed
fishing, football, gardening and wood working.
On Jan. 15, 1948 he married Lillie Mae Goeke. They resided in Bellville until June of 2006, at which time they
moved to Houston.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Asmus and Valaska (Henrichsen) Abel.
Henry is survived by his wife, Lillie Mae Abel, son, Henry and wife, Connie, daughter, Kathy Kinninger and
husband, Gary, grandchildren, Marci Shipman and husband, Danny, Mark Able, Joshua Kinninger, Zachary Kinninger and Nathan Kinninger, great grandchildren, Carter
and Lindsey Shipman and sister, Jennie Gregor along with other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville.
