Bertling

Mr. Charles Edward (Bill) Bertling, 72, of New Ulm, passed away Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009.

Charles was born in Gonzaleson April 21, 1936, the son of the late George and Ora (Needham) Bertling.

He married Dorothy Richter on May 28, 1960 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, New Ulm.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Bertling; brother, Melvin Bertling; brother in law, Glenn Klump.

He is survived by  his wife, Dorothy, daughter Cindy Polasek and husband Douglas of New Ulm; son Darrel Bertling and wife Janie of New Ulm; sister Margie Wendt and husband D.G. of Bellville; sister Jane Klump of Columbus; brother Lewis Bertling and wife Ruby of Fayetteville;  half brother Jackie Bertling; grandchildren, Jessica Polasek, and Justin Polasek; step grandchildren, Matthew Quintanilla and Andrea DeLosSantos.

Funeral Services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, New Ulm, at 2: p.m. on Friday, March 6,  with Pastor Milroy Gregor officiating. Interment followed in New Ulm Cemetery New Ulm.

Pallbearers: Jerome Chudej, David Schulz, Freddy Schlipf, Steve Stroke, Floyd Tonn, Santana Fernandez; Honorary pallbearers: Justin Polasek, Jessica Polasek, Matthew Quintanilla, Andrea DeLosSantos.

Friends were invited to call   Thursday 1-8 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland- Zaskoda Chapel with family present from 66-8 p.m.
