Barbara Ann Kopech, 40, Adriana Marie Boggan, 12, and Jackson Rivers Boggan, 9, so extraordinary to
so many, all reunited in heaven late last week.
Barbara was born Sept. 16, 1968, in Houston to John and Lucy Kopech. She attended school in the
Cy-Fair School District through junior high and graduated from Bellville High School in 1987, where she met her future husband, John Boggan, at a football game.
Upon graduation, Barbara attended Hobbs New Mexico State Junior College in pursuit of her
Barbara and John united in marriage Oct. 27, 1990, in Brenham.
In 1995, Stewart & Stephenson, currently BAE Systems, hired Barbara as a contract
A gifted artist, Barbara, loved painting, drawing, decorating and just being creative.
On Jan. 1, 1997, Barbara and John’s lives were changed forever when their first child, Adriana,
was born in Houston.
Adriana, seldom short on energy and built lacking the introvert gene, quickly became involved in
any activity mom and dad would allow.
She loved hunting, fishing, swimming, softball, soccer, and snow skiing. She was involved in both
the Choir Club and Student Council, competed the past five years in the Austin County Junior Miss Pageant, had a passion for animals, and could rock an electric
But, those who knew Adriana best might call her a “daddy’s girl,” because what she cherished
most were the rides home from school on her dad’s red Vulcan motorcycle.
On May 23, 1999, the Boggan family became larger and closer with the addition of their new
son and brother, Jackson. Jackson was blessed with great mechanical abilities from a young age and was exceedingly smart.
A member of the Sealy Selman Intermediate School Chess Club, he, like his sister, enjoyed soccer,
swimming, fishing, snow skiing, and animals.
Jackson also loved his Play Station II, was excellent on the piano, and with some great karaoke,
singing along side his dad and sister, could bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Friends and family all know how proud he was of his first duck he shot this year.
Barbara, Adriana, and Jackson all truly enjoyed traveling and recently returned from a trip
Most importantly though, they were all bound by one common thread; they were a family.
