Funeral Services for Gabriel Samuel Brokmeyer, infant son of Andy and Kimberly (Garrett) Brokmeyer,
of Bellville, were held Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at 10 a.m. from Nelsonville Brethren Church, with the Rev. Michael Groseclose, officiating.
Interment followed in National Cemetery in Nelsonville. Serving as pallbearers were Troy Roensch,
McCrae Garrett, Lance Duncan and Johnny Garcia.
Gabriel was born Oct. 5, 2008 in College Station. He was baptized Dec. 7, 2008 at Nelsonville
In Gabe’s short time he touched everyone with his precious smiles, giggles and squeaks of joy.
He brought much happiness to all those who loved him. He loved to be outside, especially swinging. In his dad’s words he was a born shopper, as he spent lots of
time shopping with his mommy and punkin.
He also enjoyed lying with daddy in their recliner watching cooking shows as mommy would try to
sleep in. As most babies, he often fought his sleep, but his mommy knew all he needed was his pacifier and to sing Jesus Loves Me to him, it worked every time.
Even at such a tender young age, it was apparent Gabe truly knew God. He had a remarkable fascination for crosses and his favorite was in his mommy and
daddy’s bathroom. Anytime he was fussy you could take him to look at his cross and his eyes would brighten up and he’d smile. You can only believe he was
having talks with Jesus.
Gabriel passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 in Bellville.
