Andrea Pearl Brandiburg Downey, 62, of Sealypassed away Sunday, May 24, 2009 in her home.
Andrea’s beautiful sunrise was April 29, 1947, in San Felipe, to parents L.C. Brandiburg and Dorothy Johnson.
“Pearl” graduated from Sealy Public Schools and went on to become a Certified Lab and X-ray Technician from Houston Community College. She was also a member
of Downey Chapel. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Andrea is survived by her son Gregory Blanks and partner Christina Stilts. Grandchildren: DeMontre Blanks, Kaela
Blanks, Kenya Blanks, RJ Cardell,Traddeus (Duke) Blanks, Drew Stilts, and Miles Marshall; Sisters Doris Polk (Isaac), Helen Tyler (Victor), Tina Leverne Daniels
(Edward), and Rosie Lindsey (Darrel); Brothers Lionel Brandiburg (Alberta), Nathan Brandiburg, and Charles Brandiburg. And several special people: friend
Earnest Stevenson, nephew Herman Wayne, niece Tammy.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Vada and Hermann Slaughter and her parents Dorthy
Slaughter Johnson, and L.C. Brandiburg.
Funeral service was held Saturday May 30, 2009, at 11a.m. at Prairie View AME Church in San Felipe, with
Pastor Alma Philips, Pastor Melvin Young, Pastor Melvin Gray, and Pastor Bennie R. Paul officiating.
Interment at San Felipe Cemetery in San Felipe.
