Hansen
Franklin Vance Hansen was born July 24, 1928, the son of Franklin Edward and Janet Vance Hansen in Seattle, Wash.
He grew up and attended school in Tacoma, Washington, and received a Bachelor of Science in
Meteorology from the University of Washington.
He was then drafted to serve his country in the United States Army stationed at White Sands Missile
Range, where he continued his career as a civilian Meteorological Scientist.
Frank lived in Las Cruces, N.M. and worked for the United States Government for 40 years of his
life.
He retired to Llano, Texas in 1993 until moving to Bellville in 2006.
Frank had a love for airplanes but hated to fly. He was a past member of the EAA Chapters in Las
Cruces, N.M. and Kingsland, Texas. He was an avid model airplane builder in his younger days. Frank had a great laugh and loved to laugh.
Frank passed away on April 27, 2009, in Bellville at the age of 80.
He is survived by his sons James Franklin Hansen and his wife, Sandra of Antioch, Calif.; Dennis
Patrick Hansen and his wife, Lauri of Bellville; brother Douglas Hansen and his wife, Barbara, of Portland, Ore.; sister Pat Scott of Yerington, Nev.;
grandchildren Erica, Chase, Erin, and Allison Hansen.
