Sadie Mae Houston was born on Oct. 8, 1918 to Mr. Leon and Mrs. Isbella P. Bonner in Nelsonville. Sadie entered
into eternal rest with her loving family around her on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 in Bellville.
Mrs. Houston was a cook for Bellville General Hospital for many years. She was also affiliated with Samuel Chapel
AME Church, Grants Chapel AME, and Historic Allen AME Church where she served as a deaconess.
Sadie Mae is preceded in death by her husband Tommie Houston, her parents Leon and Isbella Bonner, a brother, a
sister, one daughter, three grandsons, and one great grandson. To cherish her memory she leaves her daughters Robbie Moore and Alberta Broussard, five loving
sons; Tommie Houston Jr., Wayne Houston, Robert Houston, Charles Houston, and Willie Houston. Along with 39 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, 10 great great
grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and a special friend and provider Everlene Harris all to cherish her memory.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at Bellville High School with the Rev. Dr. William Quickley
officiating.
Active Pallbearers were Terrance Houston, Tony Ward, Ondre Green, Wilber Kesee Jr., Robert Smith, Allan Cooper,
Wayne Houston Jr., Robert Kesee, Brandon Smith, and Marquel McMurry.
Honorary Pallbearers were Tommie Houston Jr., Robert Houston, Wayne Houston, Charles Houston, and Willie Houston.
