Felix Alvis Johnson was born Aug. 22, 1929, in Algoma, Mississippi.
The son of Lewis Agnew and Erin Beatrice Smith Johnson, he grew up and attended school in Mississippi.
A Baptist by faith, he was united in marriage to Melba Stewart, on March 25, 1951, in Humble, Texas.
Felix and Melba made their home in Bellville. They had two daughters, Theresa and Gwen and one son, Randel.
Felix was a machinist in the oilfield and then continued his trade in a shop here in town.
Felix enjoyed cooking outdoors, fishing and gardening.
Felix passed away Monday, May 4, 2009, in Brenham at the age of 79.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 58 years Melba Johnson; daughters Theresa Parker and her husband,
Walter, and Gwen Zapalac and her husband, Greg, all of Bellville. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brandi Parker Killough and her husband, John, Damon
Parker and his wife, Jennifer, Amber Parker Friedrich and her husband, Benjamin, Mark Zapalac and Justin Zapalac; great granddaughters Taylor Renea and Allie
Felix was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Randel Johnson.
Graveside service was Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with the Rev. Amy Haralson officiating.
