Funeral services for Dorothy Korenek were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Guardian Angel Catholic
Church in Wallis with the Rev. Thuy Nguyen celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal.
Interment was in the Wallis City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth Korenek, II, Justin Korenek, Jonathon Korenek,
Kenneth E. Korenek, Gary Davis and Mike Jurasek. Honorary Pallbearers for the service were Donald, Larry and Jerry Pavliska and Andrew Dirba.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church with a Rosary/Vigil
Wake Service at 7 p.m.
Dorothy went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2009. Dorothy was born in Richmond, Texas to Gus and Annie Pavliska.
She graduated from Lamar High School in Rosenberg and in 1955, she began a 45 year career with Imperial Sugar
Company in Sugar Land , retiring in 2000.
On Oct. 6, 1957, Dorothy married Dennis Korenek.
She became the mother of three sons, Kenneth, Gary and Mike.
She was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Rosary Makers, KJT, KJZT, SPJST and
Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion in Wallis.
Dorothy loved for the family to get together, working in the yard, tending to her beautiful flowers,
playing bingo and going to Coushatta to try her luck.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Dennis, sons, Kenneth Wayne and Michael Joseph of Wallis, son
Gary Lee and wife Lisa, also of Wallis, sister, Elnora Barcak of Rosenberg. Eight grandchildren, Courtney, Amy, Kenneth II, Justin, Jonathon, Amanda,
Braidyn and Reagan. Dorothy was also fortunate to have three great grandchildren, Brooke, Andrew and Grace. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Annie Pavliska and brother Gilbert.
Memorial contributions may be made to Knox Library or American Legion.
