Alfred Maass, 74 of Burton, passed away Monday, Oct. 19, 2009.
He was born March 7, 1935 in the Burton community to Gustav and Clara (Kluck) Maass. He was a life long member of
St. Johnís United Church of Christ, being baptized April 28, 1935 by the Rev. A. Walton and confirmed April 10, 1949 by Rev. E.H. Schwengel.
He was a 1955 graduate of Burton High School.
On Aug. 20, 1993, he was married to Virginia Ueckert Brau at St. Paul Lutheran, Serbin, Texas by the Rev. Paul
Mr. Maass was a self-employed farmer, rancher, painter and carpenter.
He was preceded in death by parents and brother-in-law Tom Minor.
Survivors include: wife, Virginia ďPatĒ Maass of Burton; step-sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Debbie Brau
of Brenham, Billy and Sondra Brau of Industry; step-grandchildren, Abby Brau, Matt and Dillon McLendon, Gaithon and Ryland Brau; step-great-grandson, Mack Jackson
Schwarze (McLendon); brother, Edwin Maass of Houston; sisters and brother-in-law, Irene Minor of Houston, Edwina and John Sanders of Orange; brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Boyd Ueckert of Wesley, Dale and Dean Kollatschny of Katy.
Visitation was Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 6-8 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral service was Thursday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. in St. Johnís United Church of Christ with the Rev. Glen
Schoeneberg and Pastor Greg Felder officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Matt Sanders, Joe Sanders, David Sanders, Tim Sanders, Boyd Ueckert, Shawn Kollatschny, Jason
Kollatschny, Woodrow Heine, Billy Krause, Don Woltmann, and Ricky Wegner.
Memorials suggested to St. Johnís United Church of Christ building fund.
Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel.
