Our James Paul Martin, “Jimmy,” was born June 16, 1972, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the son of Noemi Martin and
the late Ernie C. Martin, Sr.
Jimmy was a member of the Bellville United Methodist Church where he was an active participant in the church
choir, MYF, church camp, first as a camper, then as a counselor, and mission trips to Belize, as well as New Orleans, La.
He left behind many friends of all ages at this church years ago when he went to college and then into the
workforce in the Metroplex – friends who never forget him and who will continue to love him.
Jimmy graduated from Bellville High School in 1990, as a member of the National Honor Society. He was editor of
the school newspaper, The Hoofbeat, as well as an active member of the speech/drama club where he competed on many levels in UIL events and speech tournaments,
and won numerous awards. Jimmy also performed in several Bellville Little Country Theater plays.
After high school, he was accepted to Baylor University. He completed one year before transferring to
Bentley College in Waltham, Mass.
Jimmy held various jobs including manager of the Texas Wesleyan Bookstore and the University of Dallas Bookstore,
also Student Activities Director of Northwood University, Dallas, and at the time of his death, representative at ITT Technical Institute of Arlington, where he
recruited students to pursue a career. He was very loved and touched many lives at ITT Tech.
There was no sweeter, kinder, more loving and giving guy than our Jimmy. He had a great sense of humor and
loved to laugh and easily made others laugh. Jimmy was so genuine and thoughtful. It is going to be impossible to forget just how wonderful he was.
Jimmy died peacefully Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009.
He leaves behind his mother: Noemi Martin, whom Jimmy used to always give soft, wet kisses on her eyelids;
brother, Ernie; brother, Dennis and Christy and children: Katelyn, Cody, Korey, Cameron, Austin and Kyle who love their uncle so much; little sister: Charlie,

“Jimmy, we love you, and we already miss you so much, but we KNOW that you are in the best place – in the
