Mrs. Jane Elizabeth Dean Osborn went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, Oct. 17, 2009. Born on May 17, 1937, in Clovis, N.M., “Miss Jane”, as she was often called, was an extraordinary person. She grew up in Ralls, Texas and graduated from high school there with scholarships and honors.

She met the love of her life in Ralls and married him, Robby Osborn, on August 28, 1954. They celebrated fifty-five years of marriage together in August of 2009.

Jane was “mother” and “mom” to four children, Robin, Lauren, Kendall, and Heather. She managed to run a household and work her way through the Master’s Program at the University of Houston, graduating with Honors. Miss Jane poured out her life in teaching special-needs children for twenty-five years. After her retirement, she continued to give away her life-giftings in teaching Sunday School, leading intercessory prayer groups and counseling.

Jane was an extremely creative and talented person who expressed herself through drawing, painting, quilting, and singing. One of her main philosophies was “lives must touch”. Not only was she touched by other’s lives, her life continuously touched other’s lives, to propel them to reach higher and go faster and farther. Her deep faith in the finished work of the cross of Jesus was woven into the fabric of everything she said or did, and she was a prayer warrior who never wearied. Her determined spirit and tenacious pursuit of life, will be severely missed by us all.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robby, her four children and spouses, fifteen grandchildren and spouses, and four great-grandchildren. Her older sister, Helen, is also a survivor along with Helen’s family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Maude Dean, and her father, William Hobson Dean, her brothers, Clifford and Jimmy, and her grandparents,  Silas and Mary Smith and Joseph and Allie Dean.

Jane Elizabeth Dean Osborn left a large footprint in this world that no other foot could fill. We will miss you, beloved wife and dearest mother, but it is only a little while and we’ll be together again. Thank you for your life!
