Etta Mae (Frank) Ottmer was born May 10, 1913, to parents Ben and Alvina (Schroeder) Frank.
She was baptized Sept. 16, 1916, and confirmed in April 1925, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville.
On June 17, 1931, Etta married Emil G. Ottmer in Bellville and together they were blessed with 40 years of
A lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, Etta Mae taught Sunday School, sang in the Senior Choir and served
as Memorial Chairman for many years. She was a charter member of the Martha Circle, and later joined the Mary Circle. She was also a charter member of the
Bellville Hospital Auxiliary.
Etta Mae worked for Max Bader Dry Goods for a number of years, loved to quilt, make afghans, embroider and
cross-stitch. She also liked to play bingo, enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to have visited almost every state, and Canada and Mexico. She also enjoyed
Etta Mae passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 in Bellville at the age of 96.
She is survived by her two daughters: Frances Schiller and her husband, Harvey, and Barbara Lange and her husband,
Bobby, all of Bellville; grandchildren: Diana Susen, Karen Marek, Gregg Lange and his wife, Sharon, and Glenn Lange and his wife, Stacey; and great grandchildren:
Christopher Susen and his wife, Rachel, Kayla Susen, Colin Susen, Merritt Lange, Marci Lange, Casey Marek, Alex Marek, Colby Lange, and Carly Lange. She is also
survived by her sister: Betty Luedecke; sisters-in-law: Louise Frank and Katie Frank; brother-in-law: Vernon Wendt, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil, her parents, Ben and Alvina Frank, two brothers, Wilbert and Otis
Frank, two sisters, Hazel Kujawa and Nettie Sillavan, and brothers-in-law, Rufus Kujawa and John Sillavan and Uncle Earl Luedecke.
Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 31, 2009 at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville with Pastor
David Henske and Pastor Jennie Jones, officiating.
Interment was in Oak Knoll Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dennis Ottmer, Wilbert Frank, Jr., Harold Frank, Jimmy Kujawa, John D. Sillavan, and Roy Wendt.
