Wilma Delores Phillips was born to Ernest Turner and Bettye Ann Stephens on Oct. 15, 1954 in Columbus.
She attended Columbus public schools and graduated for Bellville High School in 1973.
She married Anthony Phillips in 1976 and to this union one child was born.
Delores worked as a housekeeper/laundry aid at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home in Bellville for seven years. She
confessed Christ at an early age and was member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, in Bellville under the leadership of Rev. Michael Barber.
Mrs. Phillips entered eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 in Bryan.
Preceding her in death is her husband Anthony. She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Marcella Lynn
Stephens, mother Bettye Ann Stephen and father Ernest Turner. Seven granddaughters Shundrika Davis, Kianna, Brocquel, Summer, Faith, Mariezza, and Broccisha
Williams. Aunts Mary Wilson and Wilma Hargrove and a host of dear friends and many other relatives also will cherish her memory.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at Historic Allen Chapel AME Church in Bellville with the Rev.
J. R. Johnson officiating.
Active pallbearers were Tommie Telford, Roy Waller, Jolly Johnson, Emmitt Burton, Melvin Randle, and William Hill.
Honorary Pallbearers were Michael Wilson, John Roman, Rev. Joseph Hargrove, Michael Cooper, Mark Samuels, and
Interment followed to Willing Workers Cemetery in Columbus.
