James Edward Sauer was born April 26, 1921, in Buechel, Kent. the son of Edward Theodore and Anna
Bell (Dierson) Sauer. He was raised and attended school in Louisville, Kent., before serving his country in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946.
On March 28. 1959, he married Mary Ann Judy in Louisville. James was employed as an aerial
photography pilot. He and Mary Ann moved to Houston in 1975, and have made their home in Bellville since 1989.
A Catholic by faith, James was a member of the Bellville American Legion Post #115, the Honorable
Order of Kentucky Colonels, Houston Streamline Royal Rovers and Go Slow Sams Club, and a life-time member of the Bellville General Hospital Auxiliary. An overall
handyman, he enjoyed repairing care.
James passed away Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at his home in Bellville at the age of 87.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Mary Ann Sauer of Bellville; son James Theodore Sauer
and his wife Sue Carol, of Louisville, Kent.; daughter Janet Ann Zolla and her husband, Walter, of Montgomery; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; A sister
Pauline Meisner of Louisville, Kent.; numerous other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Juanita Sauer.
Visitation was from 6-8 on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 from Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville.
Rosary was recited by Bernice Harlan at 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at Schmidt Funeral Home.
