Hildagard Louise (Dahse) Schomburg Schroeder passed away peacefully, Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, after 97 years of a
Hilda was born Sept. 27, 1912, in Kenney, and was the youngest of seven children.
She married Ernest “Jim” Schomburg in 1930, and had one daughter, Peggy.
They lived in Kenney for many years.
Jim died in 1974, and in 1980, Hilda married Robert Schroeder.
She had two long and happy marriages, and was a devoted and much loved mother, grandmoth-er, and great
Hilda moved to Houston when she was in her 90s to be closer to her family, and enjoyed many friendships at her
Atria Sugar Land Assisted Living residence.
She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Koeppen and William Dahse; brothers and sisters, Felix, Walter,
Louis, Theodore, Lenora, and Adale; husbands, Ernest Schomburg and Robert Schroeder; son-in-law Kenneth Pitts; and step-sons, David Schroeder and Robert Lee
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Peggy Nelson and her husband William; her granddaughters,
Cynthia Hoyt and her husband Ray, and Susan Pitts; her great-grandchildren, Jessica, Raymond, Christina, Kenneth, and Michael Hoyt, and Isabel Pitts; step-son,
Larry Schroeder and his wife Betty; and step-grandchildren, Jill and Cody. Hilda’s strong spirit and loving devotion to her family will live forever in
the hearts of her family, who have a lifetime of special memories to hold dear.
